International Symposium on AgroBio NanoTechnology

The International Symposium AgroBio Nanotechnology will take place in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, from 25 to 27 October 2017. Researchers, teachers, higher education and agricultural and forestry producers, who are interested in new technological developments and products related to modern practices and sustainable innovative, are invited to participate and to present their recent advances on nanotechnology.

This event is jointly organized by the Center for Research in Applied Chemistry (CIQA), the Universidad Autonoma Agraria Antonio Narro (UAAAN) and the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

Nanotechnology focus

Limited growth and expansion of arable land, environmental impact of agriculture, altogether with the globally reduced availability of water for irrigation are pushing the development of sustainable cultivation systems based on novel technologies.

Nanotechnology (NT) is one of them, as it has the potential to revolutionize agricultural based on nanopesticides, nanoherbicides; nanobiosensors; nanofertilizers, and growth promoters.

However, research on NT oriented to agriculture is in the early stages worldwide; in Mexico and Latin America it is almost nonexistent. Thus the development of nanomaterials such as nanoparticles and/or nanodevices has still a lot to offer in the near future for agriculture. These enhanced agro inputs, used in very small amounts, are put forward in sustainable agriculture since they might cause less environmental impact than conventional inputs.

Why to attend the International Symposium on AgroBio Nanotechnology ?

This conference will gather scientists, researchers, scholars, students and entrepreneurs who are interested or work in nanotechnology in general, and nanotechnology focused in agricultural science, plant science, human biology and environmental impact. This will provide a unique forum to get in touch with new trends, to facilitate interaction and the exchange of ideas and particular novelties around NT.
